In a true-life tale of David versus Goliath, our team stood in support of yellow taxi cab drivers (taxi medallion owners) in their fight against global conglomerate and ride-sharing behemoth: Uber. In doing so, we instigated the industry’s first ever legal precedents for accountability and due process. As a result of our efforts, NYC passed a legislative cap on the number of Uber licensees (the first of its kind), and helped to protect the survival of yellow taxi cabs. However, we didn’t stop there. We also successfully fought to have the State/MTA remove Uber, and instead, fully incorporate accessible taxis into their Access-a-Ride program/contract, immensely helping to augment revenue for this sector.
